"I Heart" series by Lindsay Kelk

I heart New York

The first book in this series is "I heart New York" and I have to admit the first thing that drew me to this book is the picture on the cover, the Empire State building, new york taxi's and the pinks and blues. Plus I LOVE New York!

The story begins with Angela discovering that her fiance has been cheating on her but worst of all her best friend knew. With what she believes to be nothing left for her in England she runs away to the Big Apple, New York. She takes residence in a fab New York hotel and befriends the receptionist Jenny. Jenny becomes Angela's life coach and teaches her the new york way and gives her a brand new makeover to go with her brand new life!

This story has the typical love story and Angela has to choose between two men and she lands a dream job, as a blogger at a glossy fashion magazine with an eccentric boss called Mary.

I love this book because of fairytale ending and the glamorous location of New York, a city that I have fallen in love with, Central Park, Empire State Building, Subway, Tiffany's and Statue of Liberty.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a fairytale romance, a new start and book you never want to end.

I heart Hollywood
We left Angela in New York with her new best friend Jenny, her dream job working and blogging for Look magazine and her gorgeous musician boyfriend Alex.
Angela's boss has the dream job for her to do go to Hollywood and interview Brit actor James Jacobs.
Jenny decides to go to Hollywood with her and what entails is a week of drinking, shopping and getting to know James. He are also introduced to "LK" Jame's PA with his witty one liners it makes for an amusing read.
We learn more about Jenny and with Alex waiting at home in New York writing to music is he going to get the wrong idea with the innocent but compromising photos taken by the paparazzi of Angela and James?
I thought I had worked out the ending of this novel but the twist at the end was fabulous.
A great read and a fabulous sequel.
I heart Paris
We are back with the lovable Angela and her life in New York, since her best friend has decided to set up a life in Los Angeles she has been at a bit of a loss but since her expose on actor James Jacobs her career is on the up.
Alex is about to celebrate a milestone birthday and gets a dream gig in Paris and since Angela seems to have all the luck in the world she too lands a dream job in the most romantic city in the world writing for Belle magazine.
Angela panics because she doesn't feel she has anything glamorous enough and enlists the help of Jenny to borrow some fabulous designer ones but as Angela soon learns live doesn't always to to plan. Worse is still to come when Angela learns that Alex's ex girlfriend is in Paris and she wants Alex back.
With no clothes, no make up and no laptop cable to write her article, her boyfriends love of his life back in his life and her old life just a trains ride away will Angela run away again?
I loved this book even more than the others and couldn't put it down, a perfect series of books to read by the pool or take to the beach.
I heart this series :)

"Twelve Days of Christmas" by Trisha Ashley

I received this book for Christmas from my mum and dad and decided as it was the festive period that I should read it and once I started, I did not want this story to end. I am secretly hoping that there will be a sequel to this.

The main character is aptly named Holly, a chef and house sitter who was brought up a Strange Baptist and never celebrated Christmas until she met her husband, but when he tragically died she wanted Christmas to be just a normal day. For the first time in years she decides to celebrate Christmas with her husbands sister, who has become her best friend. However a house sitting job becomes available in a manor in a quaint, remote village and Holly sees this as the perfect opportunity to escape the festivities. However as we all know things never go to plan, especially as the house belong to Jude Martland who is also avoiding Christmas.

Holly has also had to cope with the recent death of her grandma, Holly brings along her grans old journals and we begin to find out a lot about her past.

We are introduced to several interesting but lovable characters: Noel, Tilda and Jess who has been left with her grandparents over the Christmas period. Jess quickly befriends Holly. Merlin, a lurcher who Holly has to look after, he falls in love with Holly as much as we do.

When a heavy snow fall sets in Holly has no other option but to stay in the Manor with all Jude's relatives and Jude himself for Christmas but Holly soon realises that this is the best Christmas since she became a widow.
I loved this book and would highly recommend it, I think I enjoyed it even more because I see a lot of myself in Holly and would exactly what she does about the Christmas lunch. If you love Christmas and all the magic it brings then you will love this book!

" A Winters Wedding" by Sharon Owens

This is the first novel I have read by Sharon Owens and once I started reading it I couldn't put it down.
We have the main character Emily who I instantly fell in love with and we know she is hiding or holding back emotional scars which she later confronts and deals with, with the help of new love Dylan. Another character we meet is Arabella, Emily's boss and best friend, through the book we see how Arabella becomes more and more dependant on Emily's good nature and kind heart.
The books opens with Emily decluttering her flat and how she feels its good for the soul and helps to move on and this is how we and Emily are introduced to Dylan who works at the charity shop and their relationship slowly develops.
Dylan seems to good to be true but he is not and I think this is one of reasons I love this book, it shows true love really exists.
There are two other relationships this book deals with, the relationship between Emily and her parents and Emily relationship with her boss and dear friend Arabella.
Emily opens up to Dylan about her strained relationship between her mother and father and how her mothers addiction to shopping and alcohol and her fathers addiction to gambling have always come before their daughter. However with the love, support and understanding from Dylan, Emily's relationship with her parents changes.
Next is Arabella, with her desire and struggle to have children and then her husband commits the ultimate betrayal but will Arabela's and Emily's friendship and work relationship be able survive the hatred and hurt that Arabella struggles to deal with?
The book deals with heartbreak, true love, friendships, parental angst, office wars, and revenge.
It story is slow to develop but i think this helps to build a relationship with all the characters, a truely wonderful read.

Whats it all about?

I wanted to create a blog about all my favourite 'Chick Lit' and give a review of each book but also keep a diary of all the ones I have read.

However I also love all things glittery, pink, butterfly, pretty and colourful and these will be added in the blog.

Whether its the friendships, romance or just the glittery covers....I have a love for them all!!

I have a love for books and reading and this can be seen on my ever expanding book shelf, when on holiday I can easily read a book a day.
Welcome to my Blog!!
